THREE emotional policemen returned the body of their senior colleague to family members in Melbourne yesterday, 11 days after a Himalayan charity climb turned to tragedy.
The coffin of Inspector Paul Carr was yesterday unloaded from a Thai Airways flight shortly after noon.
Insp Carr died while mountaineering on the world's sixth-highest peak - Cho Oyo, an 8200m summit on the Nepal-Tibet border.
The 42-year-old father of four was training for a Mt Everest climb for children's charity Make a Wish Foundation when he succumbed to altitude sickness.
